Empty Pizza Box Leads to Arrest of Man Who Robbed Papa John's Driver

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—An empty pizza box leads to an arrest of a man Anne Arundel County Police say robbed a delivery driver at gunpoint.

It happened on July 16, around midnight in the 2500 block of Blue Water Blvd.

The victim, who was delivering pizza for Papa John's, says he was robbed by a man at gunpoint when the suspect demanded the pizza and money.

The victim says the suspect also damaged his vehicle when he didn't leave the area quickly.

According to police, an empty pizza box was quickly recovered and sent to the lab for forensic analysis. With the help of these tests, police were able to arrest 19-year-old Bershaun Bertram Elijah Wheeler.

Wheeler, of Glen Burnie Maryland, is facing the following charges: Armed Robbery, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, firearm use in a violent crime and other related offenses.

The victim was not injured in this incident.
