17 People Injured in Harmans Bus Crash, Authorities Say

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Nearly two dozen people were hurt in a crash involving a bus and a car in Harmans Saturday night, authorities confirmed to WJZ.

Crews from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department were called to the scene, located near the corner of Dorsey Road and Shipley Avenue, about 8:40 p.m., the agency said. The collision sent the bus veering off the road and it crashed through a guardrail before ending up in the woods, according to the fire department.

Two people, ages 17 and 20, who were inside the car were rushed to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with possibly serious injuries, the agency said.

At least 15 others were taken to other hospitals, including Baltimore Washington Medical Center and Howard County General, with minor injuries. Six more refused transport.

The crash shut down Dorsey Road between Shipley and Telegraph Road for more than an hour as crews worked to clear the scene and treat crash victims. At last check about 10 p.m., the scene was cleared.
