Police: Victim Pistol-Whipped, Dog Injured In Canton Home Invasion

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police are investigating a home invasion in Canton that left a person and their dog injured.

It happened around midnight Tuesday in the 700 block of S. Rose Street.

Police say the suspect entered the home, displayed a weapon and demanded drugs and money. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pistol-whipped the victim and then later fired one round inside the home.

A dog suffered a graze wound during the gun fire.

The victim was able to flee from the home, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a mask.

Police say they are still gathering details, but it appears this was a targeted incident and that there were no signs of forced entry.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police.
