Harford County Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped in Well

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Harford County first responders rescued a St. Bernard trapped at the bottom of a well in Perryman on Sunday afternoon.

The technical rescue team was called just before 5 p.m. after the dog, Mabel, fell into the 30-foot deep dry well on East Michaelsville Road, according to the fire department.

Fortunately, Mabel wasn't seriously injured and soon crews were able to hoist her out of the well.

Once out, Mabel could be seen running around in circles. But her excitement didn't stop her from snapping a glamour shot with her rescuers.

The fire department said she will be taken to the vet to be checked out.
