BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police made a major arrest on Tuesday after Labor Day Weekend leaves 22 people shot in Baltimore.
An hour before announcing Baltimore’s new Public Enemy # 1 police say they arrested the woman responsible for a triple shooting that left a man dead.
First responders rushed to McElderry Park early Monday morning after investigators say 31-year old Marion Daughton opened fire killing a 34-year-old man and injuring two women– one of them pregnant.
Police say Daughton has a lengthy criminal record.
“The only time that Marion Daughton was not committing a crime was when she in jail,” said Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis.
Daughton was captured by police Tuesday, but they’re still looking for another suspect in the east Monument shooting and that has the community unnerved.
“You have to worry about your kids out here because they can’t even walk to the store,” said one resident.
The shooting along East Monument, is one of four triple shootings that happened in the city over the holiday weekend.
21 people shot in all, the youngest victim are a 4-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy hurt when they were caught in the crossfire playing outside of their homes.
“I never really expected to spend my night on Saturday with a 4-year-old girl,” said Davis. ” Just a tiny girl as she picked out the color of her cast.”
That gunman is also still on the loose.
Police believe several people saw the shooting, but no one has come forward.
“To not have that level of cooperation at this point is frustrating to us.”
It was a witness that helped put Marion Daughton behind bars..
Now, investigators need more people to speak out in other cases
