FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A public-private partnership in Frederick is pondering redevelopment options for a four-acre downtown property owned by the U.S. Postal Service.
The Downtown Frederick Partnership is airing possible uses for the parcel at a public presentation Wednesday night.
The property on East Patrick Street includes a two-story brick building and a large parking lot. The building houses a post office but the rest of the property has been largely unused since the Postal Service consolidated mail processing and distribution in Baltimore in 2011.
It’s in a commercial area, across the street from the site of a proposed a hotel and conference center.
The downtown partnership group includes representatives from city’s planning department and local property owners.
