Escaped Prisoner Vernon Goode Still At Large
BALTIMORE (WJZ)– After two days on the loose, city police are still searching for a man who escaped from police custody around 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Vernon Goode was last seen at Central District, following his arrest on October 20 for a domestic violence warrant.
"He was taken to the central district to be debriefed, while there, he was able to maneuver out of his hand cuffs and simply walk away," said Baltimore Police Detective Donny Moses.
Considering the accusation of domestic violence against 41-year-old Goode, they are concerned for the victim. Police believe he is not be a threat to the public.
"The warrant was for domestic violence, at worst, we feel like he may possibly be a danger to the victim, so we need to get him if for no other reason for her safety," said Moses.
Goode is described as a medium-complexioned black man who is 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighs about 215 lbs. He has shoulder=length dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a short sleeve burgundy shirt, dark jeans, and was carrying a black book bag with braided stitching.
Anyone who has seen or knows of Goode's whereabouts should call authorities immediately.
