Baltimore FBI Searching For Serial Bank Robbery Suspect
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An intense manhunt is underway to find a serial bank robber. The FBI believes the suspect is responsible for robbing multiple banks in Baltimore County and Baltimore City.
Wanted for five brazen robberies at banks across the Baltimore area, the FBI believes the suspect started his crime spree October 17.
"The person did not display a weapon, however, he did imply a weapon," said Steve Skinner, FBI special agent.
The robberies include the BB&T Bank in Pikesville, the Suntrust Bank in Parkville on Nov. 4, the BB&T in Harbor East on Nov. 9, and most recently, M&T Banks in Fells Point and Locust Point on Nov. 16.
Every time, surveillance cameras have captured the robber in action.
"We ask the public just to take a look at it. Someone out there knows who this individual is," said Skinner.
Investigators say each time the suspect entered the bank, he would hand the teller a note, announcing it was a robbery, and then walk off with cash.
"I hope they catch the guy," said Gloria Browne, works in Baltimore.
"That's scary. That's really scary," said John Sen, lives in Baltimore.
Many feel uneasy knowing a serial bank robber is on the loose.
"It's a scary thought to think that you have a family member who could just go to the bank or the store even, and the next thing you know, they're held up at gunpoint getting robbed," said Joseph Lechinski, lives in Baltimore.
The suspect typically strikes in the afternoon.
He is described as 5'7" tall, 150 pounds in his early 20s, wearing a different baseball cap in each robbery. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
