Fatal Double Shooting in Northwest Baltimore is Homicide No. 300

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A fatal double shooting in Northwest Baltimore is Baltimore City's 300th homicide of the year.

The incident occurred in the 3900 block of Groveland Avenue around 5:50 p.m. Two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds to their bodies.

The victims, a 42-year old man and 48-year old man have both died from their injuries after being taken to a local hospital.

This is the second consecutive year for the grim benchmark. In 2015, Baltimore recorded 344 total homicides before years end. That was the first time the city reached more than 300 homicides since 1999.
