What is LGBT? LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. The term LGBT was first used in the 1990s and has replaced the more broad term “gay” to describe the LGBT community. LGBT is now the preferred term for describing the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. Though LGBT Pride Month is generally celebrated in June, Baltimore and surrounding events will take place from late May through late July. Baltimore members of the LGBT communities can participate in local events including Hagerstown Hopes Pride 2015 on May 16, Frederick Pride Out on the Creek on June 27, and the Baltimore Pride 2015 events from July 25 through July 26.
