Flash flood watch
The round of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday led to more localized flooding.
More soaking rain is on the way. Ultimately the weekend will turn out nice but there are 2-4 inches of rain on the way. It begins Thursday night and goes through late Friday afternoon.
Heavy rains closed some roads and downed trees in the mid-Atlantic region overnight, prompting flash flood watches and warnings for several areas in Maryland.
A strong shortwave, or upper-level disturbance, that is currently located in the Ohio Valley will be digging into the eastern region over the next 48 hour.
We did drop down to the teens overnight, forcing the untreated snowmelt to freeze up again. Now, with sunshine and temperatures topping out in the low 40s, the melting is underway again.
