To many people, brunch is a delicious extravagance in which they rarely have the time to indulge. However, whether or not you actually observe the Easter holiday, most people don’t have to work that Sunday, and on the same day, most restaurants pull out all the stops to provide a world-class brunch. Jump on it now and you just might be able to make reservations at one of these top five brunch spots in Baltimore for Easter Sunday.

When it comes to the food it serves, the Bolton Street Bistro (titled simply “b“) uses nothing but the freshest seasonal produce, much of it coming from the Fig Leaf Farm – directly owned by the Bistro. As for the skill with which the menu is prepared, it remains incomparable. It is orchestrated by the same team that instituted Helmand and Tapas Teatro, and has surpassed those two, landing on a total of six “Best Of” lists on Gayot, three of them specifically for brunch. Speaking of the brunch, b offers a menu that ranges from house-cured smoked salmon, to a crab omelet, to a good old-fashioned local-ground burger (add bacon, egg, and cheese for more of a breakfast feel). A patron may choose from sides that include grits and cheese, applewood bacon or house-made sausage patties. Choose from drinks that include Mexican bottled Coke or house-made citrus mimosas. Discover what the entire neighborhood has been buzzing about – but be sure to get your reservations in well before Easter. As popular as b has become, you won’t be able to get last-minute seating.

Don’t come in to the Milton expecting a restaurant. It’s exactly what the title says: an Inn. Expect a nearly 300-year-old field-stone building containing a series of small rooms where you and yours will dine in intimate privacy on food prepared by 2011’s Chef of the Year. The menu is seasonal, but a sampling of brunch items include zucchini “crab cake,” grilled New Zealand rack of lamb and lobster bacon mac and cheese. Don’t come unless you’re willing to be adventurous. You won’t be disappointed when you step outside your comfort zone and indulge in things like the baked half pink grapefruit appetizer, topped with honey and brown sugar.

A renovated farmhouse in the midst of Maryland horse country, The Oregon Grille looks every bit the country club that caters to its patrons’ desires in a unique way not to be missed. Enjoy the rustic surroundings both outside and in as you sidle up a stone walk lined with lanterns and decorated by a stone fountain – then recline in a hardwood dining hall at dining tables, in booths or on the flagstone patio overlooking the green lawn, hedges and gardens. But scenery is not all that The Oregon Grille has to offer; its brunch is well worth the praise it has received. Be certain to try the “grille classic,” which is everything you could ever want in a brunch entree: crab hash with sliced grilled tenderloin, poached eggs, béarnaise and red pepper sauce.
