There’s a certain thrill in spending hours scouring a vintage shop, not knowing what you might find. Perhaps you’ll walk out with a deeply discounted designer bag or the perfect look for an 80s-themed party. Whether you’re hunting for treasure or just in need of a pair of jeans, Baltimore has plenty of shops hawking vintage wares. Check out these five stores in Baltimore for your vintage shopping.

Hunting Ground

Hunting Ground has been selling vintage wares out of a restored Hampden church since April 2012. It will buy clothing, but it must be 20 years or older. If you choose to sell, you will receive 30 percent of the sale price. Hunting Ground carries vintage clothes for men and women. Artist Minás Konsolas was born in Greece and attended the Maryland Institute, College of Art. He owns Minás Gallery and Boutique, where poets and vintage shoppers converge. The gallery is located above the clothing shop. The boutique features local crafts alongside vintage men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. The Fashion Attic, located in Baltimore’s Fells Point neighborhood, houses clothing from current brands like Banana Republic, J. Crew and Coach, as well as vintage finds. It serves as a consignment shop where sellers receive 40 percent of the profit. After 60 days in-store, clothing that doesn’t sell is returned to the seller or donated to shelters. Owned and run by the Junior League of Baltimore, The Wise Penny sells gently used and vintage clothing at low prices. The Wise Penny has been operating since 1970 and all proceeds benefit the Junior League. The Wise Penny was honored by the City Paper in 2012 with the “Best Designer Thrift Store” award. Killer Trash in Fells Point has been named the best vintage shop by several Baltimore media outlets. The small space is packed, so patience is key while sifting through the inventory, but you’ll find new and vintage finds alike. Shoppers have comments on the great vintage jewelry finds and Killer Trash is also the place to piece together a fantastic Halloween costume. Reportedly, John Waters is a fan of the shop.
