In rare moments throughout history, visionaries have experienced sudden inspirations that struck them like a bolt of lighting, causing grand leaps in creative and inventive genius, seemingly overnight. In their 20th original exhibit, the American Visionary Art Museum showcases some of the most brilliant spontaneous works of art, invention, math and spirituality ever achieved by monumental figures of history. This exhibit showcases such evolutionaries as self-tutored artist Rev. Howard Finster, visionary and painter Ingo Swann, famed musician Jimi Hendrix, polymath Walter Russell, the works of sci-fi icon Philip K. Dick as drawn by Robert Crumb, new religious groups and leaders Uriel of Unarius Academy of Science, Father Yod and The Source Family and architect Paolo Soleri.

The Walters Art Museum celebrates its 80th anniversary by combing the archives and bringing out some of the most unique pieces originally donated to the museum by the Walters family. This unprecedented exhibit features 200 works specially chosen to represent the finest the gallery has ever offered, and specifically illustrative of the contributions the Museum has brought to Baltimore's diverse art scene. The exhibit also features never-before-seen photographs and historic materials that tell the tale of the family responsible for bringing this Museum that sits as one of the undisputed leaders in American art museums.

Randall Scott Projects has opened a new gallery in Baltimore. To commemorate the opening of this groundbreaking gallery, RSP is kicking things off in style with the "Eyelid Movies" exhibit by visionary James Busby. Busby uses an intensive and intricate method of "sculptural paintings" that take on a 3D appearance of intricate grids and labyrinths that are engaging and hypnotic. These paintings work with the lighting of the room so that as the viewer shifts their position in the room, the painting shifts with them. When you visit the exhibit, we recommend you stare at the paintings for 10 seconds, then close your eyes to be treated by a reverse-image of what you have seen on the back of your eyelids.
