Ravens Fan Raffles Off Playoff Tickets To Raise Money For Baltimore Humane Society

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- While many Ravens fans would give anything to watch the team take on the Tennessee Titans in the playoffs in-person, one fan raffled off his tickets to raise money for area animals in need.

The Baltimore Humane Society said a Ravens fan named Stan Wetters raffled off his tickets, raising $2,000 for the animals it cares for.

"There's nobody with a bigger heart and our animals know it!" the agency wrote in a post on Instagram.

His wife, Amanda Wetters, is in charge of the cats at the Baltimore Humane Society.

"Helping animals find homes is something I'm passionate about," she said.

Stan and Amanda Wetters are both passionate about the Ravens, but then, a friend told them how much their tickets were worth.

"He said I bet you can make a lot more if you raffle them off," Stan Wetters said. "If I were to do that what would it benefit, and my wife works here, and I thought the Baltimore Humane Society."

The Baltimore Humane Society said that they were amazed by Stan's generosity. So was Amanda.

"The fact that he would rather sacrifice that opportunity to come and help animals here is just amazing," she said. "It gives me chills."

Humane society volunteer Trisha Brusco bought the winning tickets.

"We're just amazed at his generosity," she said.

Stan and Amanda said that if the Ravens defeat the Titans, they will attend the AFC Championship Game.

Watch the Ravens take on the Titans beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday on WJZ.
